Salesforce Winter '27 updates for architects: 10 picks covering consent flows, sales workflows, CMS search and sandbox setup.

Salesforce Winter '27 (API 68.0) adds consent flow actions, retail journey templates, sales workflow controls and setup options. One item below is already available: the Sales Engagement reporting update shipped in mid-July 2026.

What's new

1. Automate consent in record-triggered flows

The Consent Request flow action automates consent management in record-triggered flows. Examples include opting new leads into certain emails or opting contacts out of a subscription when a related opportunity closes.

Test the subscription outcome, not just whether the flow runs. The action changes how you automate consent, not what your consent policy should be.

2. Configure retail journeys with prebuilt triggers and templates

Marketing Cloud Next adds retail triggers and matching flow templates combining content, flow and audience rules. Options include Birthday, Anniversary, Visitor Conversion, Reengagement and Replenishment, plus Email/SMS Welcome Series and a New Product in High-Engagement Category trigger.

Qualification options include custom inactivity criteria, prior-purchaser exclusions and high-intent filters. Contact Point DMO channel mapping controls channel configuration. The Coupon data provider can assign one unique coupon code per recipient.

The audience rules deserve the first review, before anyone starts adapting the content.

3. Maintain stakeholder details in Relationship Maps

Relationship Maps now supports side-panel edits to opportunity roles, departments and notes. Sellers can also restore previously removed contacts.

Removal has two scopes: remove a connection from the map or remove it entirely. Seller guidance should distinguish the two.

4. Open Agentforce Assist from a workspace signal

Sales Workspace recommendations can open Agentforce Assist through a configured platform action, without the seller leaving the workspace.

Create an Agent Quick Action and assign it on the **Sales Workspace Actions** setup page. Then test that the selected signal opens Assist.

5. Select deal-risk and activity columns in Pipeline Forecasting

Pipeline Forecasting adds interactive columns for agent activity, deal risk alerts, methodology scores, contact insights and activity heatmaps. Reps and managers choose which columns appear in their Opportunities list.

6. Report on Sales Workspace actions and dismissals

Sales Workspace signal-response reporting uses the **Home Page Recommendations** report type under **Administrative Reports**. Alternatively, build a custom report type on **Prioritized Recommendation** and **Prioritized Recommendation Item**. Response data has a **90-day retention window**.

These reports cover actions and dismissals. They are not, on that basis alone, a measure of Assist usage or sales impact.

7. Use the updated Sales Engagement reports

Sales Engagement data is stored natively on the Salesforce Platform and appears in new and updated reports and the **Sales Engagement Sample Dashboard**. The update provides more consistent data and easier drill-down into individual engagements.

This has been available since mid-July 2026. Test the reports and drill-down now rather than scheduling them as a Winter '27 launch.

8. Index CMS taxonomy terms for semantic search

CMS Base data kit version 2.0 adds a content taxonomy transform and a search index on taxonomy terms. Search can find tagged CMS content when a tag matches a keyword's semantic meaning rather than its exact text.

Deploy version 2.0 from **Setup > CMS Base Data Kit**, include the **Content Taxonomy** bundle, and enable **Search Indexes** in Advanced Settings.

For testing, use queries that express a tag's meaning without repeating its text. Exact-tag queries won't test the new matching behavior.

9. Configure Account Plans in Salesforce Go

Sales Account Plans setup in Salesforce Go now provides guided configuration instead of linking to the legacy Setup page. A single **Manage Account Plans** permission set can grant the required object and field access.

Open Salesforce Go from the gear menu and select **Account Plans**. Validate the permission set with a representative user before broader assignment.

10. Import authorized email domains into a sandbox

Verified authorized email domains can be imported from production into a sandbox. Mark production domains with **Allow copy to sandbox**, then import them all into the sandbox in one click without repeating DNS verification there.

Review the production domains before marking them for sandbox use.

What to know

**CMS eligibility:** Version 2.0 of the CMS Base data kit is available in editions supported by Data 360.

**Email copy boundary:** DKIM keys still cannot be copied to sandboxes. Keep DKIM checks in the sandbox setup checklist.

No mandatory adoption deadline is listed for these updates, and the Account Plans setup change has no stated migration requirement.

What needs your attention

The **90-day retention window** is the scheduling constraint for Sales Workspace response reporting. If a review needs action-and-dismissal history, run it before that data ages out.
