Salesforce Winter '27 REST API: latest version routing

Winter '27 adds latest routing to REST API URIs, targeting the most recent version the org supports rather than a fixed numbered version.

Winter '27 adds latest as an alternative to a numbered vXX.0 segment in REST API URIs. The Simplify REST API Version Management update routes these requests to the most recent REST API version **the org supports**.

Example:

text https://<MyDomain>.my.salesforce.com/services/data/latest/sobjects/Account

latest is not a fixed alias for API 68.0. The **List Available REST API Versions** resource reports which REST API versions the target org supports.

Choose a routing policy

**ForceNotes guidance:** Before changing the URI, inspect its current version segment and check the target org’s supported REST API versions.

If the business requires a fixed API target, retain the numbered URI segment. Choosing latest gives up that fixed selection: requests follow the most recent REST API version the org supports.
